MASON, Ohio – In their first action of the season, the University of Evansville women's tennis team played in the Greater Cincinnati Invitational at Lindner Family Tennis Center.

Diana Tkachenko had the best day for UE, playing No. 2 singles.  She topped Raksha Boda of St. Francis, 6-0, 6-2, before defeating Jade Kawamoto of Dayton.  The scores from that match were 4-6, 6-4, 10-1.

At the third flight, Nicoli Pereira began the day with the win over Zuzanna Stelmaszak of Duquesne, 7-5, 5-7, 10-7.  In her second effort of the day, Pereira fell to Abilene Christian's Autumn Crossnoe, 6-1, 6-0.

Theodora Soldatou and Daria Pentsova saw action at flight four.  Soldatou defeated Sydney Power of NKU, 6-2, 6-4 in the opener before dropping her effort against UIC's Bianca Zuzu, 6-2, 6-4.  Ayumi Sasaki from Bowling Green topped Pentsova in the first match of the day, 6-7, 6-3, 10-3.  Andjela Brguljan went 1-1 on the day at #5 singles.  After falling to Valpo's Jordan Kopfer, 7-6 (9), 6-4, Brguljan rebounded to defeat Angela Avgerinos of Butler, 7-5, 6-2.

Andrea Pascual-Larrinaga played at flight one.  In her first match, she fell to Belmont's Lindsay Whitehead, 7-6 (4), 6-0.  Later, she fell to Kathleen Hebble of Valparaiso, 8-4.  Chieko Yamada also played at #1 singles.  She lost to Lauren Ghidotti of Xavier, 6-1, 6-2, before falling to Sarah Adams from Abilene Christian, 8-1.
